Henry is 3 months old today!

My lil monkey is three months old today! He is getting so big:0) He weighs about 15 pounds and is 25 inches long.  Henry has had to make some big adjustments this month, but he has been doing great despite mommy going back work and getting sick. Thankfully, mommy has a fabulous support system.  Daddy is such a big help, plus he loves spending time with his grandmas and his babysitter! These days, Henry is very talkative.  He loves making sounds, especially grunting noises and cooing. He also loves his hands, whether it is to stare at them or to eat them.  He is starting to kick more and more each day, making it harder to change his diapers.  He still loves to swing in his swing, playing on his gym (he loves to hit his elephant rattle and parrot wheel... now at the same time), and kicking in his kick-n-play seat.  Henry still does not enjoy tummy time, but we do it everyday with lots of distractions despite his protest (we can't have a flat head).

Henry had a great first Thanksgiving! We went over to the Matthews family Thanksgiving to visit before going to Grandma Wilusz's for dinner. It was a long day for Henry, especially because he had a 3 month/Christmas photo shoot in the morning with Aunty Abby:)  On Friday, Henry had a special visitor.  Kate came to visit him.  Henry and Kate had a great time visiting and watching the Red Wings game.  Later, we headed over to  Grandpa Wilusz's house to have another Thanksgiving dinner.  All in all we had a great Thanksgiving weekend!  Next year, Henry will enjoy tasting all of the tasty cuisine:)

Trips, Trips, Trips

Henry made his first trips to Frankenmuth, MI and the Greenfield Village last weekend.  Every year my mother and I plan a trip the Frankenmuth in celebration of my birthday.  This year we went before my birthday because I returned to work on Nov. 7th due to my maternity leave being up.  My mother and I had a great time with Henry.  We ate in the Cow Path at Zehnders like with always do.  Henry was good, but of coarse he wanted to eat while we were eating;)  Then we took Henry to Bronners to pick out his first Christmas bulb and a family Xmas bulb.  It was so much fun. I just love Christmas bulbs.  Henry has received several Christmas bulbs already, so he will have a nice start to his collection:)  Henry was tuckered out after our visit.  There was just to much to see.  After our visit to Bronners, we went shopping at the outlet stores in between Henry's feedings.

On Saturday, we went to Greenfield Village with Grammy Matthews and Grandma Wilusz.  Henry had a blast riding on the Carousal with mommy and taking in the History.  It was such a beautiful day for taking in the sights.

Halloween Weekend 2011

We had a wonderful Halloween weekend! Mommy and daddy had a date night on Saturday night for daddy's birthday.  We went to Blackfinn for dinner, Bastones for drinks, and Astoria for dessert.  We had a great night together.  Thank you Grammy Matthews for babysitting!  On Sunday, we took Henry to Spooklacular in downtown RO.  We enjoyed walking around and getting some fresh air with Henry. He looked so cute in his monkey costume that Grandma Wilusz made him!  After, we went to Great Grandma Wilusz's house to show off Henry's monkey costume.  Pat, Sharon, and Grace were there and were happy to finally meet little Henry.  Grace was excited to hold lil Henry:)  Later we grabbed some dinner and watched movies once our lil man went to bed.  On Halloween, daddy stayed home to spend the day with us!  We made cookies and roasted pumpkin seeds. We decided not to carve the pumpkin this year since we didn't pass out candy.  Halloween night Henry had fun visiting his grandparents houses.  After a busy night, Henry went right to sleep after his bath:)

Henry is 2 months old today!

Henry is two months old today! On Tuesday, Henry went in for his two month check up.  Henry weighed 13lbs. and measured 23 1/2 inches.  What a big boy! He also got 3 immunizations, 2 shots and 1 liquid.  Boy was he a trooper! He did such a great job and mommy didn't cry either;)  Currently, Henry is cooing more and more (he loves to talk to his mommy, daddy, his fishies and his butterflies), smiling with his cute little dimples (though they are hard to catch on film), holding his head up, laughing, and sucking on his fingers.  He is also starting to hold his keys and rattle and he loves bath time with daddy:)  Henry is a great sleeper too! He goes to bed between 8:30/9:30 and sleeps til 6 am:) Love my lil guy! To celebrate being two month old today,we went to visit great grandma Andrews for the first time.  We had a lot of fun meeting and playing with grandma!

Henry's First Trip - Port Austin, MI

Micheal and I took Henry on his first trip to Grandpa's cottage in Port Austin, MI.  We has a lot of fun together! On Friday, we visited the Flower Farm to pick out Henry's first pumpkin.  It was chilly, but we found a nice sized pumpkin for Henry and took some fall family photos. We also stopped at a local winery and sampled some local wines.  It wasn't Traverse City wine quality, but we picked up a white pinot noir.  On Saturday, Grandpa showed off baby Henry to his cottage friends.  Many people were up, closing up their cottages for the winter. Later we went to Janik's Orchard to get cider and donuts and found that they also had  a pumpkin patch. Henry wanted no part of the pumpkin patch though...he was getting hungry.  After we fed and changed him we were back on the road.  We decided to go to another orchard because Janik's didn't have caramel apples.  What's a visit to a cider mill without caramel apples??? We got the BEST caramel apples from Leipprandt's Orchard.  They were dipped in a thick, creamy caramel and rolled completely in nuts. Yum...they were delicious! After our orchard outings we went back to the cottage and hung out.  Grandpa cooked an awesome stew and Michael and I snuck out for a walk on the beach while Henry was napping.  Sunday, we took Henry for a walk down to the beach.  Henry truly enjoyed his first of many trips to Port Austin and grandpa's cottage:)
